The 48th IFDT Meeting takes place in New Delhi, India from 14–18 November 2022, and it will be hosted by the Sushma Swaraj Institute
of Foreign Service. This edition also coincides with the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.
The theme of the 48th IFDT Meeting is ‘Diplomacy for Development’. Panel discussions on 15 and 16 November will address themes such as the diplomat’s toolkit, socio-economic transformation, health diplomacy, negotiation strategies, climate change, cultural diplomacy, and more.

Panel discussions will primarily be for 90 minutes each with coffee/lunch breaks in between. There would be 3 panelists and 1 moderator per panel. Each panel would include at least one Indian panelist and one IFDT member; care would be taken to ensure that the panel is diverse in its composition in terms of the gender and geographies represented. The panel discussion will cover 8 broad themes (exact topics to be decided later) related to diplomacy and
diplomatic training.

A visit to India International Trade Fair (IITF), 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in the first half of the day, followed by ‘Dilli Darshan’ (a tour of Delhi) during the second half.
