The 2018 Meeting of the Deans and Directors of Diplomatic Academies and Institutes of International Relations will take place from 19 to 22 September 2018 in Washington, DC, USA and will be hosted by the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetwon University.
Wednesday, September 19th -- Afternoon
The U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service Institute (FSI) charged with training and preparing US diplomats and others serving abroad, has kindly offered to host IFDT members for a tour of its facilities. FSI trains diplomats from first entry onto duty through preparations for retirement, as well as provides training for specialist, including IT. They have over the past few years added new programs - such as Leadership and Management - and new teaching technologies.
FSI is a lovely campus just minutes from Washington. ISD will provide buses from the designated hotels.

We are currently looking into a boat/continental breakfast from Georgetown to Mt. Vernon -- George Washington's estate with a private tour of the house and grounds. Early fall is a glorious time on the River and at the estate.
